The world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales have made an appearance in Northwest Louisiana despite a plea from the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). On March 17, PETA sent a letter to Louisiana Downs urging it to cancel the legendary Budweiser hitch team that will visit with race fans on March 24. In a press release, PETA said it had made dispatches with the racetrack's president, Kevin Preston, urging him to cancel the event in order to avoid appearing to support the practice of tailbone amputation.
